Baby Green Cheek Conures playing with Kiwi

Look at how Kiwi is so gentle with these babies!! I was cautious at first when I let her play with them....but they all seem to get along just fine. It is kind of weird to me that Kiwi, who is just a baby herself at 3 months old, is friendly with not only these babies, but also the jenday conure babies. But....she definately does not like our pet meyers Daisy!!

The 4 babies are all doing fine and have just been put in a cage so they wont be on the web cam any longer.

Baby White Bellied Caiques -- 8 weeks old

The three caiques are doing terrific. I realize that the youngest baby looks a bit scared in this video. He is just being introduced to the older babies after being separated from them for a few weeks. They pretty much ignore him....but he is definately cautious around them. He will get used to them and will soon be running around with them looking for trouble.

Meyers Babies having a Flower Snack

Trisket and Daisy LOVE flowers!! In this video they are enjoying some nasturtium flowers and leaves, a Hibiscus, and some marigolds. I added some basil and swiss chard from the garden also.

I think the hibiscus would be considered a desert and would have a bit more sugar than they should have on a daily basis. The nasturtiums and marigolds though I believe are a good healthy food for them to have each day. The greens of course can be fed as much as they want also. I consider the hibiscus a desert type treat only because the ants in my garden LOVE them!!

Trisket Baby Meyers Parrot

Trisket has been practicing her flying skills this week. She is a pretty good flyer now and she sure loves her friend Daisy!! Daisy is only a couple weeks older than Trisket but she has been taking on the motherly position with Trisket. You will notice her trying to regurgitate food for Trisket in this video. I DO NOT encourage this and to be honest this video was the first time I saw this happen. I think they were just excited when I made this video and Daisy did the regurging because of her excitement. Trisket eats on her own just fine and if she needed baby food she would get it from a syringe. But, she has been refusing hand feeding food from me the past couple of days.

Jenday Conure Babies

These three are very close to being weaned and will be going home very soon. They are all adorable aren't they? All of these babies now have homes to go to when they are weaned.

Trisket and Daisy all Grown up!!

Look at these two little angels!! Both of them and their sister Lizzy, (formerly named Aria) are such sweet little birds!! I really enjoy raising meyers. Lizzy went home earlier this weekend and Trisket will be going home in a week or two. Daisy is staying with us.
